Grant Management System Recognized as Laureate by
the Computerworld Honors Program
The IDG Computerworld Honors Program has recognized REJIS’ Grants Management System as a Laureate. Founded by International Data Group (IDG) in 1988, the Computerworld Honors Program is governed by the not-for-profit Computerworld Information Technology Awards Foundation. In its 22nd year, Computerworld Honors is the longest running global program to honor individuals and organizations that use information technology to benefit society.

Each year, the Honors Program Chairmen’s Committee, a group of 100 Chairmen/CEOs of global technology companies, nominates individuals and organizations around the world whose visionary application of information technology promotes positive social and economic progress. An independent board of CIO-level judges evaluates nominations and select Laureates, Finalists and award recipients, in 10 industry-related categories, to be honored at the Laureate Medal Ceremony.

The new Grants Management System replaced a process in use at the Missouri Department of Transportation, Highway Safety Division that was reliant on paper forms and procedures, converting it into a web-enabled application that is easy to use and navigate. As a result, the length of time required to apply, award, and disburse funds and then manage grant awards has been drastically shortened. This puts the awarded funds in the hands of the recipients sooner and stream lines the follow up reporting process so they spend less time on documentation activities.

The application design is flexible. While the Highway Safety Division is using the Grants Management System to accept applications for grants that they will award and administer, it can be easily adapted to support grant programs of any type. The application can also be used by an agency to administer grants that they have been awarded. For additional information contact the REJIS Client Services Division, (314)535-1950.
